The Boom Hitch is a relatively new hitch on the scene. It is about 50 or 60 years old but in the world of knots that is really not that old. What I am going to do here is show you that this is a nice threading hitch that makes a really nice tight grip onto with whatever you are hitching it to. I've got my post set up, here's my line here and I'm just going to take it over and take a lot of length here and this at the bottom is going to be my working end, pull around, over like this and basically I am going to do the start of a Clove Hitch more or less and then I am going to take it and wrap it back around like so and then wrap it back under my initial rope, wrap it over one more time and as you can see it is starting to weave as you would around the hitch and then back up and around and I'm going to pull a little bit here on my middle one and pull a loop into it like so finishing the weaving motion and as you can see, a nice Boom Hitch.
