How to Tie Cow Hitch Variant

We can create several different types of hitches and here's a nice variant on the pedigree cow hitch. If you look down here you can see I've got my hitching post set up, so to say. I'm going to take my rope, I'm going to wrap it, let's wrap it over and under. What I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and just loop it, one good time around. I'm going to loop it through the loop such as this. Let's put a little extra line out for me, then I'm going to take it and I'm going to wrap it under, and back over again and pulling it back through the double loop that I've initially made. Now as I pull on this you can see it will tighten these up and all the tightness and tautness will come right here into this double loop that I made. Securing this nicely to our post, and not allowing it to come loose or pull free. Let's do that one more time. Nice variant on the regular cow hitch, we'll take our hitching post and we'll take our line over, and then around, and then loop it once around through my initial loop, and leave a little space here, we'll take it under, over, and oops, it did not do what I wanted it to do. Through, then we'll go, I'll do it on this side, over and through my knot, and if I pull on this side, there you go, nice and secure.
