Hi! This is Leslie Sack for expertvillage.com. You can visit my website at www.lesliesack.com. We are doing Salsa and we are going to learn the forwarding, backward basic. I am going to show you two different ways to do it. We've got the sure fire super fast version and then we got little bit harder versions. Either one is going to work but we are going to count it in two different ways as well. Okay, you can count it quick, quick slow and then you can count it in 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. So first all you have to find your left foot. If you put your hands in front like this, the one said L, that is your left foot. Okay, if you are a leader you are going to take that foot forward first. If you are a follower, you put your right foot back first. So what you are going to do is you are going to go forward and on your back foot if you are a leader, so what we are doing is called a rock step. You go 1, 2 and then you bring your feet together; this is the easy version. Then your right foot goes back, rock back on the right foot and then come back to the middle so right foot goes forward, right foot goes back. Left foot goes forward and right foot goes back to 6, 1, 2, 3,4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3 and the music goes like this; quick quick slow, quick quick slow, quick quick slow, quick quick slow, quick quick slow, quick quick slow quick quick slow or an 8, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Change your weight every time step step step. The harder version is you are going to pass. You are not going to bring your feet together. One foot progresses past the other so every single time you step, your feet don't come in together so we get more of a free motion. This one is actually much better because you want a really smooth feeling; quick quick slow, quick quick slow, left foot forward, right foot back, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, tap 4,1,2,3,4 forward and backward basic.
