How to Paint Details on T-Shirts

GRACE FRAGA: So now Chantelle, you finished to hand painting the circle. And what is the next step? CHANTELLE TIBBS: Okay. We're going to slowly take the stencil off. GRACE FRAGA: Oh, oh, very slowly, right? CHANTELLE TIBBS: Who knows what lies underneath those? I'm going to very slowly take this stencil off. Hold your shirt down. If you have somebody that can hold the shirt down while you're doing this, please do it. Again, less... GRACE FRAGA: So you want me to hold it down? CHANTELLE TIBBS: ...Shout time the better. Yeah. Yeah. So we're holding it out. GRACE FRAGA: Yeah, just anything. CHANTELLE TIBBS: We're taking it off. We're taking it off, and yay! GRACE FRAGA: Alright. Oh, wow! Nice. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Yeah. So it came out looking really good. GRACE FRAGA: Very nice. CHANTELLE TIBBS: And now you'll notice at the top here, there's one little part where the spot bled; ironically, that's when I was telling you exactly what not to do for the spot to bleed. So, look at me making mistakes. GRACE FRAGA: Oh, that's right. That's when you where saying that. That's what you did. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Yeah, that's what I did. GRACE FRAGA: That's funny. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Yeah. So now, what you're going to want to do is you're going to want to make your touch ups. If, for any reason, any paint bled through, any part of the stencil, you're going to want to get your Shout Wipe real quick and try to see if you can dry it off. If you try to dry it off and it doesn't work, there's one of two things that you can do. You can start on another shirt or you can turn it into some sort of interpretive artistic design which I've also done as well and it made for a better shirt, so. GRACE FRAGA: Really? CHANTELLE TIBBS: You want to sit down and think about it and think about what you can do creatively to cover that up. If it's a design that you're already selling, you need to get another shirt, 'cause you need to give customers what you promised them. But if it's for yourself, you might be able to do a little bit. GRACE FRAGA: Make it up. That's great. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Yeah. So now that we've assessed... GRACE FRAGA: Okay. CHANTELLE TIBBS: ...what needs to be done, it's time to do it.
