Sleeping During the Day for Night Shift
Now that you've been up for a couple of hours, we're going to go over tips and ways to help you sleep in the day. Your body does not want to sleep when the sun is shining. That's just the way our bodies work. We need to do things to help our bodies relax and we have to do things to make our bodies want to go to sleep. One of the tips that I have, which works really well for me, is to exercise. I know exercising increases the heart rate and it makes you energized and makes you want to stay up, but here's the trick. When you get up in the morning, do your exercising first. You get up, you go do your exercising. When you come back, eat breakfast, run errands, and do things around the house that you need to do. I like to clean up, iron my clothes for that night, do things that I need to get taken care of. Go to the post office, go grocery shopping, wash, cook, clean. Whatever you need to get done that you really don't want to do but you have to do, go ahead and start getting those things done. You've worked out and you've started to run errands and you've done stuff around the house. You need to lay down; you need to relax.
