Hi, this is Eric Stern from Expert Village. We're discussing signaling techniques for emergency situations. This is the part where we're discussing cell phones. This is my cell phone. Basically what you want to make sure of is that you have a cell phone that will function as widely as possible. The cell phones that have been made within the last few years have often been a combination of both analog and digital. That is being phased out. Now at this point, most of the towers, I would say within the next year to year and a half is going to be converted completely to digital. So the lovely thing is that now it really makes no difference because cell phones are going to be exclusively digital, but so will the towers. So the ability to gain a signal from far away will be still there, regardless of the type of phone you use. The reason why this is included as part of the signaling process is that it is a form of communication. It is an audible tool and you can certainly avoid the vast majority of your problems and find yourself not needing to use any of your other skills if you have a cell phone with a charge on it. You can simply pick it up dial someone, dial 911, tell them approximately where you are and you know that that way for sure, there will be someone on their way to get you to give you some assistance. So it negates the need for use of the other skills.
