Using a Car Horn as a Distress Signal

Hi this is Eric Sterns with Expert Village. We're looking at signaling. Specifically right now we're looking at audible signaling, one of the tools that people have when their car breaks down and they're stranded. Regardless of whether or not their car will actually run, you still have tools inside your car that you can use, one of which is your car horn. And you can use that to draw attention to yourself by simply hitting three blasts on the horn every couple of minutes. What that does is basically break the pattern of silence that is around you, typically in the middle of nowhere and draws your attention every few minutes to something that is not natural, that's man-made so people will be less likely to ignore that there's something there. You'll have a better chance of someone coming to your assistance. So we'll go ahead and demonstrate the signaling for the use of car, which is simply three blasts with the horn.
