ATHENA REICH: In this segment, I'm going to talk about press. If you're going to go on tour, contact press. I toured for three years and I am so grateful that I actually hired a publicist instead of do it myself. Now, you can do it yourself but as you can tell from the previous segments, booking venues is overwhelming as it is that I didn't want to deal with the press. I hired a publicist who worked really hard for me and I got--every week, I was featured in numerous magazines, newspapers, radio, from commercial to college radio, even TV shows, I would end up on Breakfast Television or Lunch News where I get to perform a song. I mean, I came back with piles of press because I'd hired a publicist. I mean, when you travel and play out of town like in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and you're travelling hundreds of miles, you're going to get an article in the paper. So, why tour without press. Either contact the press yourself, market yourself or hire a publicist. Do it.
