How to Have a Good Singing Attitude

In this clip I'm going to talk about mental attitude. I lot of my time is spent while teaching and helping students learn how to relax. Some times when we are learning something new especially as adults we have a lot of anxiety and they are breathing fast thinking I can't do this. I can't do this. You know kids can learn so much faster then adults. You know I teach 5 year olds, I teach 5th year olds. I disagree that kids learn faster. It is just that they are more naive so they don't notice, they can not hear a opera singer and compare themselves to that and feel bad that they are not matching that opera singers level of expertise. They don't judge themselves. They actually go pretty slowly. What a kid accomplishes in a year is not that enormous to tell you the truth but a adult can accomplish in a year is actually much bigger. So be gentle, be very patient, breath. It is hard to learn when you are hyperventilating.
