How to Stall a Hula Hoop

Now that we can hoop and go to the right and the left directions, we're going to learn how to stall the hoop. Stalling is great for transitioning between both directions. Start to hoop towards the left. Take the feet out to the sides, bend the knees a little bit, relax the shoulders and chest. Now, start to look down at the hoop. Just notice as it comes in front of your body. You're going to take your left hand and just as the hoop comes around, grab it and push it in the opposite direction. Let's try it again. Hooping towards the left, look down, check out your hoop. As it swings in front of your body and towards the left, left hand grabs the loop. It's also really helpful to bend the knees and actually move your whole body in that direction. Hooping towards the left, left hand grabs the hoop twisting the body, pushing it in the opposite direction. Try it again. Hooping towards the left, left hand grabs the hoop, pushes in the opposite direction. Make sure that when you push the hoop, that you're pushing in a nice horizontal even plane. Nice and smooth. Alright.
