Dealing with Wraiths Halo 3

JOHN SEXTON: Halo 3 is a registered trademark of Bungie Software, a company with which I have no affiliation. Now here comes a big Covenant tank called the Wraith. These are very dangerous, of course. Inside, they have a driver and a gunner who's manning the giant, purple energy-slinging weapon. So you can take out the gunner with a sniper rifle if you're careful and fast enough. But you've gotta be careful to avoid the giant, purple energy because it does a lot of splash damage and one hit will kill you. Fortunately, there are two bunkers up here so I'm just running back and forth from one to the other so I can stay undercover and make sure I don't get killed by the Wraith. I'm going to use the sniper rifle to take out the gunner as quickly as possible. Now, one way to take out the Wraith--which is dangerous but effective if you can pull it off--is to sort of hijack the vehicle and stuff a grenade inside. So you can do that by just coming up close to it and holding the right bumper, and then you press the left trigger to plant a grenade inside the Wraith and kill the driver, which will take out the vehicle. You can hang back and shoot the Wraith until it blows up, but that obviously takes a lot longer and it's much more difficult especially because it will be shooting at you the whole time. So if you can, it's good to try to advance on the Wraith from a covered position and you can take it out with a grenade like that.
