The Covenant Carbine in Halo 3

JOHN SEXTON: Halo 3 is a registered trademark of Bungie Software, a company with which I have no affiliation. Okay now, often the distance here we can see a little purple glow which indicates a Covenant Carbine, which is a sniper rifle that they have, and it's usually wielded by a Jackal that's hiding in the trees or behind a rock or something like that. So, in this particular part of the level, there are a lot of snipers that can take you out pretty quickly. So you've gotta be on the lookout for them and those little purple glows are giving ways to their position. Here's one right there. Now the targeting reticle you'll notice turns red when you're over an enemy, it's blue most of the time when you're not aiming at anything, it turns green when you're over an ally to help prevent friendly fire. You can [SOUNDS LIKE] uproot with a rocket launcher or you're going to throw a grenade. So you've got a couple of kind of grenades in Halo. There are fragmentation grenades, which is the standard explosive grenades that you would normally think of in a military game, and then you have the plasma grenades which are a little bit more destructive and are actually sticky, so they will stick to whatever you throw at them, so if you can manage to land them on an enemy, it's pretty much a guaranteed kill and if you--they take a second to explode after you land them on whatever you land them on, so if you manage to throw a sticky grenade on a grunt for example, he'll lose his nerve and turn tail and run back among his friends and a lot times blow up and take some of those other Covenant out with him, so that's a lot of fun too. I've got a sniper rifle here that's lying on the ground in front of me, so I'll go ahead and pick that up and drop my needler for it.
