Ammo Gauge in Halo 3

JOHN SEXTON: Halo 3 is a registered trademark of Bungie Software, a company of which I have no affiliation. So up at the top right corner of the screen you can see the ammo gauge for your current weapon and I'm just about out. I've got 13 rounds left and it just reloaded. Okay, so now I'm out of ammo. I can hit the Y button to switch to my pistol and I'll need to find another weapon soon, so I can have a backup weapon. Now the pistol's probably the most powerful gun in Halo 1 in the hands of an experienced player, especially in the multiplayer, an experienced pistol user would be able to zoom in and get a couple of head shots and kill you before anything. But the pistol's been toned down a little bit in Halo 3, but it's still quite powerful and one of the more entertaining weapons to use. It's also dual wieldable. You can mix and match weapons, so now I've gotta spiker in my left hand and a pistol in my right hand that makes for it some exciting showdowns. So this image that's appearing on the screen right now is a vision that Master Chief is having of his faithful AI construct teammate named Cortana. Cortana has been a constant companion to Master Chief throughout the Halo series, but at the end of Halo 2, he had to part ways with her, so that he could go back to Earth and try to contain the Covenant invasion while Cortana was occupied with another enemy called the Gravemind, which is the leader of a sentient life form called The Flood which is essentially a universe-wide virus that infects and consumes anything that it touches. So Cortana was trying to find out more about The Flood when she was captured by what was essentially The Flood leader, the Gravemind, and Master Chief had to leave to go protect Earth. So now he's getting these sort of psychic flashes from Cortana and she's trying to warn him about some danger or let him know what he's gotta do to find her because he did promise that he would come back for her at the end of Halo 2.
