JOHN SEXTON: Halo 3 is a registered trademark of Bungie Software a company with which I have no affiliation. Here we are playing Halo 3 this is the first mission where Master Chief has just crashed in the jungle in a escape pod that was launched at the end of Halo 2. So Halo 3 picks up right where Halo 2 left off. And Master Chief is on his way back to Earth to defend it against the invading Covenant aliens. And he's just crash-landed here in the jungle and some of his compatriots have found him and dug him out of the wreckage and made sure that he is good to go. And now we'll just have to follow them and see what's going on. So the character with the blue arrow there is actually the Arbiter, and he is a Covenant elite soldier who was part of the main story of Halo 2. The Covenant of course are the main bad guys in the Halo universe, but the Arbiter is one of the few Covenant who realized that the religious fanatics, known as the prophets who lead the race of the Covenant, are insane and are actually endangering the safety of the entire universe. So the Arbiter switched sides and now he's helping the humans fight against the remaining Covenant forces that are invading the Earth. So in this beginning part of the game here we've just kind of getting, familiarizing yourself with the controls again. Like most first-person tutors you use the right analog stick to look up and down and left and right. You use the left analog stick to strafe back and forth and move forward and back. The A button is used to jump, the B button is used for the melee attack which is good for taking off characters quietly or from behind. The X button reloads if you've shot off some rounds. And the Y button switches your weapons.
