How to Use Coils to Build & Sculpt Hair with Clay
Now that we have the face and the ears and everything done, we can add the hair and I didn't draw hair in the picture but we can do that. What we can do is, we can take these ribbon tools and just cut of strands like this and I can just simply add them in strands. It also gives a lot of texture to the sculpture; it gives it a little bit more depth. Then I can just place these kind of, if he's got curly hair. Then you just build the hair up as you go. Then you can also shape it, you can make it more fine. This guy has curly hair, so I'm just gonna come in here and continue to build until I cover the entire head. That's how you apply the hair!
