Sent Controls Guide for Hunter's

Hi! I’m Roger Roberts on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to be talking about scent control. Why is scent important? An old man told me one time when you walk in a room and smell spaghetti cooking, you smell spaghetti. If a deer would walk in that same room, it would smell the individual makeup of that spaghetti being the meat, the sauce and any of the spices used. You smell each individual ingredient. It just goes to show scent is the most important of all the scents of deer. So to cover that up, we’ve got some basic solutions. Here you have your base layer. This is by Scent Lok. A lot of different brands make it. Why is this important? It is actually carbon lined. When you are out in the tree stand all day or stalking a deer, you are going to start sweating. Your enzymes are going to be escaping your body and this is just going to help capture it a little bit better and control that. You want to put that in or on right after you wash yourself in the morning. Here we have some basic cover up scent spray. You put that on your clothing, your camouflage I like to do it the night before so that way by morning it is all dry. I just put it on heavily which can’t really put too much of this on. Here we have a basic scent wafer. This is actually an herb smell. This just helps when it starts blowing the wind. Let’s say the wind changes direction on you and you want a little extra protection just in case you’ve been up sweating all day in a tree stand or little scent escapes through, maybe you ate garlic the night before or something so this is going to help protect that. And here we just had three basic scent control items.
