How to Prepare Clay for Sculpting

Welcome back! I've cut off from my big block of clay, I've cut off basically the shape of the head, this is going to be a neck and then the base of the bust which is basically the neck into the shoulders. I've kind of cut these off and I've got them in a basic shape of what I want and once I do that I might add a little more to the neck. The head is actually going to weigh a lot so; I want to make sure I have a good foundation for that thing to sit up on there. I do this and then, I'm going to score this to put this on here and then I'll be ready to start building the bust.
