Hi! I’m Robert Rogers on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip we are going to be talking about set up of the tree stand. Instead of going all the way to the top, we are going to set it up on the bottom here. We’ve chose our location; we’ve got some nice deer runs, got some good coverage and we found out the wind is coming from here so we want to face the wind. So what we are going to do is grab our tree stand, going to make sure the strap is going to go around the base of the tree and is going to be long enough to fit the diameter of the tree so right here im going to have to go about another 6 inches out, just estimating; go a little further if anything. He can always tighten up but it is kind of a pain to loosen it. What you are going to want to do then is place your strap around the tree making sure it doesn’t twist, clip the other side and you have a little bit of slack. What you are going to want to do is grab that oh there it is. Grab that strap and pull it down till it is nice and secure. Okay, it is nice and tight. The next step you are going to want to do is place the base of the tree stand up. It is going to loosen up a little bit more and tighten it down as tight as you possibly can. That is pretty secure and then place it down and what it is going to do is tighten that down even more, putting more pressure on it making sure that tree stand locks down; nice and sturdy. So now we’ve it in the tree, sturdy. You are going to want to your safety belt being high in the air but you are going to jump up and test it to make sure that you are not going to fall out of the tree. Make sure there are no noises. Now that I’m in the tree stand location, what I am going to do is jump up and down to make sure your stand is properly placed. Make sure you don’t have any rust or anything on your hinges. If you are high in the air, you obviously want a safety belt before you jump up and down just because if it does fall, you obviously want to be safe about it. A couple of good sturdy jumps. I didn’t hear anything break, crack or creek, wobble back and forth a little bit. I don’t hear any noises. A lot of times that you make that initial stand to give that kill shot your seat right here might make a little noise and obviously you don’t want to make any noise whatsoever. Looks like a pretty good tree stand location.
