Evaluating Windows for Cleaning

DAVE BARKER: On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Dave Barker with Barker Window Cleaning also here in Salt Lake City. I'm going to show you how to evaluate the window, the size, shape, also how dirty it is, maybe accessibility, some tools you may need to use to get the window. So if you look at a set of windows, this is a commercial building here in downtown Salt Lake. I'm going to look at the size of it and I'm going to see--I've got of couple of different squeegees here. First off, this is about a 30-inch squeegee. This is about an 18-inch squeegee. This will work with this size. Almost do that with one pass, you'll have to do a couple. This one is going to be little too large so we can do this sideways or we can get a smaller squeegee. The dirt on this building, it was cleaned about six months ago, so it doesn't need any extra scrubbing or anything, maybe some fingerprints. But it doesn't require any extra equipment. I'll show you some other problem windows later. The other thing is accessibility. I'm going to need a ladder or a pole to access the higher windows. I'll get to that a little bit later. And of course, what I won't cover today is that six stories above, we use a drop-and-rappel method for doing that but I'm not going to get into any of that. This is just a straightforward shot.
