ALVIN DEDEUX: So the next thing you want to do is actually start attaching some of these materials to the hook. And what I've done is I've clipped off my materials so that the front end is nice and even. This part is going to be hanging back so it's not really that big of a deal if it's uneven and it's actually the kinda uneven back sometimes is more attractive. It looks a little bit more realistic than if we cut off really blunt thing. Now, the trick is to sort of pinch this between your fingers, lay it in position and then wrap your thread around the materials without letting them spin around the hooks. So that when I let go, all my material is right where I set it, just right on top of the hook. And then once you do three or four wraps to lock it down, it's pretty much on there. It's not going to go anywhere. So that's--I'm tying the fly now. That was my first step. Attach my materials to the hook.
