Hi! I’m Mark Black and welcome to expertvillage.com. We’re going to talk about intermediate theory concepts. What I’m trying to get to on this basic song writing thing is that first off, we talked about the lyrics, which need to exist correctly as a whole. We haven’t done anything much about them because we’re focusing on the theory part. We talked about the melodies should exist beautifully or funky or whatever, but as is some other instrument played it not a vocal, because when you do the vocal you got lyrics and that influences what you think about it. And then here we’re talking about the basic chords, these chords. 1 major, minor 2, minor 3, major 4, major 5, minor 6, and then diminished 7, and we flash that out in several different keys. Then I’m just trying to show you that tons of songs, every song uses those chords as a framework. Now let me just show you real quick, we’ll talk about this in the advanced theory segment.
