Finish Installing the Drainage System for Raised Garden Beds

Okay we are here at tub number 2 and we are finishing the drainage system with using PVC pipe. You will notice that I've only drilled holes on one side. The other side of the pipe is intact. We are going to roll the pipe over so that the holes are to the bottom. The reason we are going to do that is because the dirt is going to infiltrate from the top of the pipe down into the inside. If we have the holes in the bottom, water is going to be able to rise in there as it accumulates, get inside the pipe and have an unobstructed path down toward our drain at the other end. We've plugged the ends just lightly with a can which keeps the dirt and stuff from infiltrating from the top end and we've got an unobstructed path. Now for drainage if we drill holes anywhere close to the top, we probably would have dirt going in and getting into the drainage area that we have to have open. You know basically a wide open space for your water to get out and drainage is everything that accumulates around the roots, plants are dead.
