Composting Spring Vegetable Garden

Hello everybody I am David Rodriquez, horticulturist with Texas Agri-life Extension service on behalf of Expert Village and we are going to show you some gardening steps in preparing your vegetable garden for the spring planting. Watering is very important to your vegetable garden, using these PVC pipes is just one of the choice, there are many other choices out there besides, using bi-wall, drip irrigation and other forms of irrigation. Just make sure that your vegetables get at least one inch of water supplemented every week in lieu of any rainfall and minimize the amount of water we get on the foliage of the plant to minimize any disease problems. Adding compost in the form of enriched properly aged compost is the best additive for any time that you get your garden into shape. Twenty percent is a good ratio to replenish, we talked about minimizing the amount of usage of a roto-tiller and that you can easily grub it in with a good grubbing hoe, but you can’t have enough compost and use it wisely and use lots of it.
