Tracking Your Score for Playing Dominoes

Hi! I’m Nathan Holsey, author of the book The Dominologist. On behalf of expertvillage.com, in this clip I will be talking more about keeping score. If you’d like to know more about keeping score, please refer to my website thedominologist.com. The way points are made in dominos, the double 6 play, I make 15 points. Well 15 points look like this, 5, 10, 15. Let’s say someone else played and they put like a 6-4 over there. Well, the next play to make points would be a nice double 3 or and a 6-4, there you go, that’s 6 and 4 for 10 points. Ten points now look like this, a dime, 10, 10, and 5, 10, 20, and 5. A greater play for someone else if they were to add on and continue with scoring, they go to the spinner. There’s a 5 and 10 which is the 10 I just scored they’re adding 5 to it, that’s 15. Fifteen and then of course, a double 5 will make 20 which will look like this and start a new house, so 10, 10, 10, 10, and 10, that’s 50 and 60 points. So the way you score in dominos is by multiples of 5, like I said before, if I break this apart there’s 15 points, 5, 10, 15, then this was played and this was played which covered up the spinner so it kills that spinner. 4 and 6 is 10, that’s 5 and 5, here’s another 5 added, that’s 15, here are two 5’s added to the 5, you don’t count this 5, you only count what’s showing, so that’s 10 and 10 for 20 by 5.
