How to do Combinations Playing Dominoes

Hi! I’m Nathan Holsey, author of the book The Dominologist. On behalf of expertvillage.com, in this clip I will be talking about common combinations and if you’d like to learn more about dominos, big 6 dominos, double 6 dominos, you can refer to my website thedominologist.com. Common combinations. The biggest common combination is the double 6 and the 6-3 and that’s because the 6 is know as the very first spinner of the game so it gets thrown down first and usually the person who has a 6-3 automatically makes 15 points and when I say combinations, I mean point-making combinations. Here is a double 5 and a 5 blank, so one person gets 10, this is like 10 points and this person goes same thing. So 5 blank also earns 10 points because the double is open. Here, a double 4 and a 4-2, a double 4 and 2, 10 points, very simple. A 6 and a double deuce. Let’s say someone tried to play that first because they had the domino, so I’m going to put that there. That’s 10 points and of course the opposite if someone played that as a spinner, your combination is a 6 deuce, making you 10 points. Real simple combinations, a 3-2, that’s 5 points but no one can score so it’s a very simple combination in bone itself and then here we are with a 6-4 for 10 points, very interesting combination. The only thing about this is you add a 6-1 to that combination, it brings it down by 5 points and making it a 5. On the other hand, if someone played a 6-1 and you played this here, they would get a nickel, so 5 points. Those are various combinations.
