The Game Pieces of Scrabble
Hi! My name is Andy Strohl and on behalf of Expert Village, in this clip we will be discussing the contents of Scrabble board game. Don’t forget to check out my work at www.strohldigital.com. Okay, so as far as the contents of the Scrabble board game, you are going to want to have a game board obviously, 100 letter tiles each with their own letter, and also numerical value on them. You will also need a leather bag and 4 racks for which to display your letters and configure them in any way you choose. In Scrabble the general strategy is to form interlocking words, crossword style, across the board and accumulating points. High score wins and you try to accumulate points by using a variety of methods. There are different word letter values as I said before assigned to each piece but also there are premium squares around the board and in certain strategic locations. So to maximize your score, you want to put your highest value words or your highest value letters on those premium squares on the board. A good player will score between either 300 – 400 points going heads up, one on one with 2 players involved in the game and that is basically it for set up. Next we are going to dive right in and show you how to actually start to play the game.
