How to Play "Run, Sit, Hunt" with Kids

In this clip, we're going to show you a fun game that is great to play right after the children have eaten at a party. Because it picks the momentum back up and it gets them excited. It's a high energy game and it also keeps the kids thinking. And you don't really even need any materials. What we do is you can make up names. We chose names that have to do with the Indian culture. Like one wall was "Indian Warrior" which had to do with fighting. The other wall was "Tiger Princess" which had to do with the Indian royalty. And we had "Three Men Hunting" and we had "Deer Down". What happens is: You have one person that's calling it. It's usually an adult. They stand and they and they call it. They call "Indian Warrior", and everybody has to run to that side. Then if you call "Tiger Princess", they have to run to the side that "Tiger Princess" is. And if you say "Deer Down", they go falling to the ground. If you say "Three Men Hunting", they have to grab hands with 3 kids now and hit the hunting position. What's really important is that you say "Three Men Hunting", and you don't have more than 3 kids holding on to each other. And what you do is to start to mix it up. You might go "Indian Warrior", "Tiger Princess", "Indian Warrior", "Deer Down". And it gets the kids moving around, thinking fast, laughing and exciting. Now, how does the game end? Well, the last person to the last place you said, like you said "Indian Warrior", "Tiger Princess", "Deer Down". The last person on down on "Deer Down" is out. What's great about this game is a quick moving game. It's not hard to get all the children out quickly. And so, it creates enthusiasm, no one is left waiting, learn about the Indian culture, and this is one of the games they always want to play over, and over and over again.
