How to Play "Going Hunting" with a Straw

In this clip, we're going to show you another exciting Indian game that you can play with children. This game is called, "Going on a Hunt" or "Hunting Warrior". And what you do is of course; kids can't use bow and arrows. As much as they want to shoot them, it wouldn't be safe. So what we do is we take a straw and you can tell the kids is tear off whether they want to tear off a lot or a little, but they only tear off one-half of the straw. Leaving the straw with some paper on it. Then you let the kids separate in groups. You make a line in the grass or you are at a house, you may want to take a piece of masking tape, where the kids stand on it. You can set maybe 3 or 4 up at once. Don't let everybody go at the same time because it can get way too confusing. And the game will last a little longer if you split the kids up. What you do is you add maybe 4 children stand on the line and then on the count of three, they all shoot their straws. Trying to shoot furthest. The farthest straw is the winner and the warrior that gets to go on to the next finalist game. After everyone competes, the ones with the straws that goes the farthest, get to go against each other. It's important to make sure that you have probably the double amount of straws, as in attendees and participants. Because sometimes children do make mistakes pulling the straws off and you may go through quite a few before the game is actually complete. And you want to make sure you have enough so everybody has fun.
