"Hi, I'm Holly Heidemann on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you another barrel pattern that you can do in the training of your barrel horse and also to keep your older seasoned barrel horse from ducking barrels and not wanting to finish. This is just another thing for them to think about and to keep them listening to you. Behind me I have the barrel pattern set up in what we call the funnel barrel pattern which is just six barrels, where the first two barrels are the farthest apart, the second two sets of barrels are across from each other and they are a little closer and the last set of two barrels they are the closest and so that's what forms kind of the funnel looking pattern. What we are going to do is start out, you can start out left or right it doesn't matter, I'm gonna go ahead and start to the right today and you are going to go to the right barrel and then straight across to the left and then you are going to diagonally go up to the next right barrel. You are going to keep going across then diagonal, across then diagonal and always do a left turn then a right turn, then a left turn then a right turn don't do two turns the same direction in a row. You will see me complete this pattern, what it does is just keeps your horse listening to you, keeps them from getting too chargey and really helps them to finish their barrels and be looking for the barrels and hunting them instead of just waiting for you to que them for everything."
