DIXON GILLETTE: All right, so as you can see here, we are at our main game map. And one of the more important things that you're going to need to know is how to get around your game map. So here you can see that we start out at our starting city. So to move to the north, the easiest way is to take your mouse and just basically move your mouse pointer in the direction you want to move. And as you can see, it will essentially move in the direction that your mouse pointer is going in. This is an easy way to get around, but it's a pretty slow way to get around. A quicker way would actually to be holding down the shift key and then scrolling, which will make your scroll speed go about twice as fast. It's not very precise, but if you need to get around the screen, pretty quickly, you can do that. The other way is to use your left and right arrow keys. If you don't want to use your mouse, you can move north, south, east and west here. Also if you hold down the shift key again and use your arrows, you will move twice as fast as well. The other way that you can move around is by using your mini map down here; and as you can see, it's sort of a geographical representation of your entire map. Simply by clicking at any point will bring your camera view to that point. This is probably the most efficient way to get around. You can also left-click into your camera and hold down and you can essentially drag your camera around your map, and that will also allow you to get around as well. To zoom in and out, you're going to want to use your mouse's scroll wheel. And by scrolling backwards will essentially move you out, and by scrolling inwards will give you a zoomed-in view. Now, to rotate your camera, you have a couple of options. You can hold down your middle mouse wheel and move your mouse to actually rotate your camera around. This is going to be especially important for when you need to build switches or other types of track and you need to get around the mountain because you can't see it. You can also hold down control and use your left and right arrow keys on your keyboard if you want to do it that way as well. So that's the basics of navigation in Sid Meier's Railroads.
