The next exercise I’m going to demonstrate is a dumbbell roll. You’re going to go ahead and pick up 2 dumbbells the appropriate weight for you, holding them by your side first. Your feet are going to be hip width apart; they can be a little bit closer. Slightly bending your knees, bringing your glutes back, wave your body over your heels, as always. Weights are going to come out in front of you. Your palms are facing one another, loose grip on the dumbbells and you’re going to pull your elbows by your side, squeezing your shoulder blades together and inhale as you lower. Exhale and you lift, inhale as you lower. Make sure that you’re not arching your back. You want to keep the abdominals engaged the whole time as you lift and squeeze your shoulder blades together. Inhale, exhale as you lift, very good. Makes sure that you keep your head, neck and back in one line and squeeze, perfect, inhale as you lower, exhale lift, perfect, working those muscles in the back.
