Cable Row Exercises Increasing Upper & Lower Back Strength

The next exercise I’m going to demonstrate is a cable row. You’re going to do this exercise standing with a cable machine. So first thing you want to do is go ahead and grab the bar directly in front of you, standing up straight and you want to take a couple of steps back so that you have enough range of motion to do the exercise completely. Slightly bending your knees, tilting your chest forward just a little bit you’re going to exhale as you bring your arms close to your body, squeeze the shoulder blades together, inhale and lower. Exhale squeeze and inhale lower, perfect. Exhale and inhale. This is a little bit more difficult than doing it on the machine because you’re using your own body weight to support you and the cable can sometimes pull you forward, so make sure that you have the appropriate weight and you’re far enough away from the machine to get full range of motion without being pulled forward. Exhale and inhale, perfect and inhale, good.
