How to Pick a Stained Glass Pattern

ALLISON KLINGER: On behalf of ExpertVillage.com, my name is Allison at Western Art Glass. And in this segment, we're going to be talking about a pattern for a stepping stone and getting as much glass as we need for that pattern. For the stepping stone I'm going to do today, I have a thing for sun, moon and stars. I just love them. So of course, here's a book: sun, moon and stars. This is just a typical stained-glass pattern book from my local stained-glass store. So anyway, I'm going to be doing this sun right here, somewhat of similar colors because to me sun is a pretty much yellow and red. Anyway, you find your pattern. This pattern here, they actually give you these lines over here so that you can get this photocopied off and attach it down here on the perforated lines and therefore you end up with something like this. So pattern prep takes a little bit of time but it's all right. So anyway, find a pattern that you like, get it photocopied, keep the original. You need these pattern books; you want to save them. Like I said, stained-glass pattern book from your local stained-glass store. So go check them out.
