Hi I'm Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to show you some cheerleading squad cheers today. We're going to talk about chants and I'm going to demonstrate some that you can take to your squad. Now when we're cheering for a game, we want to make sure we have our uniforms ready. It's going to be your coach's responsibility at the beginning of the season to get all of your measurements and purchase a uniform for you to borrow. However, if you cheer for a competition squad, that's going to be an out of pocket expense for you, so it's also going to be something that you're going to be able to hold onto. Also, when you're done cheering you can sell it back to your competition squad. Now one of the first parts of the uniform is going to be the shell. This is what we call the shell. It's the outside of the top. A lot of times it's going to be in your team colors, and most likely it will have your team name across it. Now this would be an example of what we like to call the away uniform. This is what we're going to wear when we're visiting a school. The away uniform has your most prominent dark color as the base. Now your home uniform is going to be your lighter color, most likely white. And those ones we're going to wear when it's our school. This is just a good way for the audience and the crowd to keep each cheerleading squad separate. Now the second part of the uniform, we are going to have our cheerleading skirt. It's important to make sure you get a cheerleading skirt that fits. You're going to want to wear it high up on your waist over your bellybutton. You're also going to want to make sure it goes right about to your fingertips because we're going to be doing a lot of moving around, a lot of kicks and jumps, just want to make sure it's comfortable, first and foremost. These you're going to have two of as well to go with your home and away uniform. One of the most important parts of the uniform and girls, don't forget these at home. These are our bloomers. We want them under our skirts. We don't want to have our underpants showing when we're running around on the field. So always make sure you've got at least three or four pair of these that you can wear under your skirt. You're usually going to want to have them in neutral color or to match. Everybody's should be the same. It's also important to make sure you have some low cut sport socks. We don't want them showing when we have our shoes on. You want them to come right to your ankle, so they're not hanging out too far over. And everybody's needed to look about the same. Need to make sure you have your hair pulled back out of your face. We definitely want to have team ribbons in. Everyone should have a matching ribbon. You can write your school colors on them. Definitely have a matching uniform, and then you're ready to go and cheer for your game.
