Hi, I am Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to show you some cheer leading squad cheers today. We're going to talk about chants and I'm going to demonstrate some that you can take to your squad. One thing that is really important when you're cheering is to make sure you get your crowd involved. Sometimes this may be difficult. They may not always want to participate with you. We always want to keep a smile on our face and try to keep them going. Now, female cheerleaders one of your greatest tools that you are going to have are your pompoms. Pompoms are going to be given to you by your coach. They are going to have your team color, usually made out of plastic or foil ribbons attached to a plastic bar in the middle. Now we're going to be able to hold them, you can brush them together, you can do cheers with them and you can even throw them up in the air. Now for men it?s not appropriate to use pompoms, instead your going to have a megaphone. A megaphone is going to be big cone shaped thing with a handle on the bottom. It can be your school colors as well. We're going to use those to yell to our crowd. Bring the volume up. It?s just nice to have your school logo on the side. However, it?s not appropriate when we're at a basketball or football game to bang your megaphones on the ground. It seems fun. It seems like a cool idea. It?s just really not appropriate. Another really awesome tool your going to have to get your crowd involved is bringing supplies to the game such as candy. We can also get our school to supply little plastic footballs or basketballs depending on your sport. You can take this candy when it's appropriate during full time outs or half time at a game, we can go to the crowd and do what like to call running the sidelines. Which means your going to go back and forth along and your going to ask your crowd to get motivated with you. That?s a really great way to get people waving to you. Then you can take the candy, make sure you always throw it underhanded, you don't want to pelt the candy or footballs at anybody. So always use a nice gentle underhand toss. So those are so great ways to get your crowd involved in your cheers.
