How to Shampoo & Condition Hair Before Cutting

Hi! My name is Dawn Shannon for Expert Village, I’m a hairstylist and also owner of Intuition Salon and Spa, you can visit us on the web at www.intuitionsalonandspa.com. Now we’re going to go over the preparation for the specific types of haircut that you want to do and with her we’re going to go back to the bowl and she likes to wear her hair with a lot of style and use different products, she’s also colored treated so we’re going to want to use products that are going to help with the look of her haircut and also give her volume but at the same time condition as she has been colored and likes to continue coloring her hair. Okay so now we’re going to go ahead and we’re going to shampoo her hair, go ahead and tip your head back, we’re going to use a clarifying shampoo to remove all the buildup and the styling products off of her hair and then we’ve gone ahead and decided that we’re going to use a volumizing conditioner that’s slightly conditioning but will still give her lots of body. So with this particular style when we’re done it won’t be limp but at the same time it’ll be conditioned but with volume.
