Hi, I'm Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village here to talk about cheer leading competitions. Now when it comes to competition uniforms, they are going to be slightly different from your game uniforms. Usually they are going to have a added element which is called the body suit. A body suit is going to be a turtle neck that goes underneath your shell, it's going to have long sleeves and it a higher neck. It's usually black or white. The reason why we wear these body suits is because they highlight our arms which is really important in cheer leading. They let the judges see your movements really stiff to make sure everyone's movements are aligned. So it's also important to make sure your skirt and your top matches up with your body suit; it's really trendy right now. We have the straight skirts. The pleats are a little bit better for your games. The competitions are a little more stream line so you can see your cheerleaders body's better. Another thing we really need to pay attention is when it comes to our uniform in competing is the top part of our skirt. In many cheer leading competitions, you can have points taken off your squad if anybody's belly button is showing so need to make sure that your uniform is high enough on the skirt to where you do a tumbling and fall out you don't want to see any belly buttons; that is really inappropriate. You also want to check and make sure what kind of glitter is allowed if you want to spray glitter on your uniform. If that is all fine and well, just make sure your competition allows it. Some are not going to because it can get into people eyes and be dangerous, reflect off of the television, cameras, light stuff but just make sure you know what you are getting into. Make sure everyone has matching shoes, matching socks, and now you are ready to go to competition.
this really helped. THANKS!!!
