You know like any poker variant there are good hands and bad hands in guts. A good rule for guts on what is a good hand is to ask yourself what is a good hand for Texas Holdem'. Texas holdem' you get two starting cards and then five more cards come after that but in guts you get two starting cards and you don't get any more cards. So if it's a good hand in holdem' it's a good hand or a great hand in guts. Let's just deal some cards randomly and see it's a good hand. There is jack six probably not but it's going to beat most hands most two card hand jacks, sixes are actually going to beat them because it's in the higher half of possible hands. There is an ace and a king this is a very good hand as a matter of fact I would play this every time in guts. The only thing better is an ace and a king is any pair and obviously the very best pair is a pair of aces. But really I would play jack six, I would definitely play ace king, I'd play any pair and obviously I would play pocket rockets.
