Learn the Over the Top Juggling Technique

Hi! My name is Adria. I am one of the professional jugglers here at Expert Village.com. We are playing with scarfs. We have just learned how to handle scarfs and how they are different from balls and we have just learned the three scarf cascade, which is the basic pattern that all juggled patterns with scarfs will be based on. We learned the grip so that we can hold two scarfs in one hand and drop them individually from each other. Okay, did you see that I just had a fumble, but because the scarf goes so slowly, I had plenty of time to recover. We are going to learn right now very simple pattern called over the top; it is actually a trick. Now this differs from the balls. When we are doing balls over the top, you may throw the ball on the outside, but with scarfs remember we do not throw. We have to lift them to the right place and then let them drop. So what we are doing with the scarfs as we are doing a three scarf cascade and then lifting one over the top. Look at that over the top again. Over the top. Not throwing it, lifting it. I don’t lift it completely over. It has a little bit of momentum not every much because it is just a scarf but that is over the top and as I am throwing over the top with my right hand it is over the top leading with the right. This will be over the top leading with the left. That would be a mistake. Here we go, over the top leading with the left.
