Differences Between Suit & Tuxedo

Hi on behalf of Expert Village I'm Garen Palmer and this is Ritz Tuxedos. Becoming popular these days is the use of suits, rather than tuxedos. What is the difference between a suit and a tuxedo? The first thing, and most importantly, is the suit has the same fabric on the lapel as the rest of the coat. Tuxedos will have a satin lapel or satin somewhere on that lapel, that's the main difference. Second difference is, of course, the type of shirt you wear with the tuxedo is usually a little bit different. It's going to have pleats, small pleats, wider pleats, anywhere from an eighth of an inch to a half inch. Then there are different collar types. Lay down collar, mandarin collars, wing tip collars, all of those are appropriate to wear with a tuxedo. But to wear with a suit that's okay. The difference also with the suit is usually on the cuff of the suit you're going to have a cuff, tuxedos usually don't have a cuff at the bottom of the pant, they're just a straight sewn up with no cuff. But it's okay to wear a suit for a wedding, they're becoming quite popular, little more casual and with that use of the long tie in the winter time now with tuxedos there's not a lot of difference between the tuxedo look and the suit look. So, what ever way you want to go is appropriate.
