Full Drums for "La Villa Strangiato" by Rush

JOEL SIEGEL: All right, so we have our upbeat of three, we have our sixteenth notes going, upbeat of three with the kick and that hi-hat lift on the upbeat of three, coming down on four instead of the "a" of three, right? And so what else happens on four? You have your hi-hat coming down to left foot and you also have your right hand coming from the hi-hat to the snare. Okay? It's going to get that backbeat on four. So, and then after four, all what happens is you finish out the sixteenth notes on the hi-hat. So, four-e-and-a. So, with the proceeding beat, you have one-and, two-and [PLAYS DRUM PATTERN], and, two-and [PLAYS DRUM PATTERN], and , two-and [PLAYS DRUM PATTERN], and, two-and [PLAYS DRUM PATTERN]. Okay? So that's how the same half breaks down and then you put it all together and what do have? All right, that's the slow version pretty much. Take it up to speed they're at [HUMS "LA VILLA STRANGIATO"]. Yeah, that's pretty fast two, three, four. All right? So pretty quick beat and a lot of coordination stuff going on with all four limbs. That's why it's a good beat to practice-you're going to practice things that you wouldn't normally necessarily be doing and like just kind of your-right in the middle of a rock beat, but there you go. If you can get that, now you can play a Neil Peart beat which not a lot of people can sing, so work on that and come back to us.
