Drums for "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin: Part 6

JOEL SIEGEL: All right. So we've talked about kinda breaking down the sixteenth notes and how they kinda fit between the eighth notes and the hi-hat. So once you get that down, you're pretty much ready to complete your beat and you can slow it down when you're working on it, but here's what the whole beat sounds like when you piece all four beats together. All right? So that's your classic rock. It's just a huge plate on a 24-inch kick with 22-inch rides and crashes all around you, rock beat. So slow it down, break it down, think about those sixteenth notes, how they're interacting with the hi-hat, between the hi-hat and the kick drum, and you got yourself a pretty sweet beat.
