JOEL SIEGEL: All right. So we have our one, two in the kick and hi-hat. And all that happens after that is you have an upbeat of two on the kick. And this serves to give the sound--give the tune a kind of a heartbeat kind of sound. You'll hear what I mean. It also has the downbeat of three in the kick drum. So this is what it sounds like. You got one, two, three, four. Okay? So we have that downbeat of three that kicks in to give it that heartbeat sound. And then as far as beat four goes, it's the same thing as beat two. You have the hi-hat closed with the feet, or with the foot rather, and then the upbeat of four with the kick, so you get that continuous heartbeat sound. And in the end tempo, it sounds like this. One, two, three, four. All right? Now that's the intro beat, and that's the six bars, and I just played the fill which we'll talk about in the next clip.
