Adding Dough to an Electric Pasta Maker Mixer

Putting the pasta dough into the machine. Now pasta machines can be very difficult so you want to start out with small pieces of dough. You don't want to ever put too much in there. Otherwise it's just going to jam and not work. So using your sharp knife you want to cut off a smaller piece of dough cause this isn't very big. You kind of roll it into a little of a log shape there so this will help it go into the feeding tube a little bit better. So with the smaller piece you're going to hold it above the tube and you're going to start turning your handle. Cause you want it to go into the threads so your kind of just letting it being sucked in by your movement. You are going to take a few pieces before the pasta actually starts coming out of the machine. So you are kind of feeding the threads of the machine right. Now if your dough gets a little too sticky then feel free to add some flour to it. We're going to roll this into another log there so as you can see the pasta maker kind of sucks in the dough as you're putting it in and it's not quite coming out front yet. Actually a tiny bit is but you are not getting the volume coming out yet because we still need to put a little bit more in. So if you want to have like a bunch of little dough balls kind of ready for you to drop in then that's not a bad way to go either. You can see now it's eating up that pasta and we're ready for the next step.
