How to ID Customers as a Waiter

Hi! My name is Leslie Moselle and we're here at Mickey Quinn's in Seminole, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, this is how to be a successful server. I have a table of kids here. They look pretty young. The key rule to remember when you're waiting tables and you have a group of people who like to order a drink, is to remember if they look under 35, go ahead and ask them for their ID. The worst you're going to do is make someone feel good. If they're over 35, they're going to take it as a compliment. If they're younger, then you're just playing it safe. I'm going to go ahead and see if my table would like to start off with any drinks. If they ask for an alcoholic beverage, I'm just going to ask them for their ID. Here we go. Good evening. Welcome to Mickey Quinn's. How are you today? Alright, and you? Good. My name is Leslie and I'll be your server tonight. Can I start you off with something to drink? Yeah, I'll go for a beer. Okay. If you don't mind me asking, can I see your ID? Yes. Wonderful. Alright, thanks. What kind of beer can I get you? A draft or bottle? I'll take a draft. Anything in particular? You just want me to pick something? Something good. Wonderful. I'll go ahead and get that for you and give you some time to look at the menu. Thank you. No problem.
