Flamenco Dance Instructor Biography

Hi! Thank you for visiting expertvillage.com, my name is Yvette Parrish. I’m a flamenco entertainer and instructor in San Antonio, Texas. One of the basic mistakes that people make when they pronounce flamenco they say flamingo, don’t they Robin? Yes, and its fla men co, the word men is in the word. So that’s a easy way to remember it flamenco and its origins are from Spain, it’s a beautiful dance. I’ve been dancing for over 4 years professionally and publicly and I just love it throughout Texas and San Antonio and I run with a dance group called “Viva Flamenco De San Antonio” and we dance for schools, corporate events, downtown for Fiesta the River Walk and we have so much fun. I also teach at Cynergy Dance Company, six classes a week and from ages 5 to 50 are my students. So it’s a love for flamenco, I know as soon as you try it you’re going to love it. Remember its power, its pride, its strength, it’s a little bit mysterious and always be a lady and its lady like. But I’m known professionally as “La Reina Latina” which is held some pageant titles in the past including Ms. Ethnic World, I was Miss Texas 2003, so somehow La Reina Latina kind of stuck for me and that’s my professional stage name but you can call me Miss Yvette. If you’d like to see more videos and hundreds of pictures on my website you can go to www.texaslatina.com and it’s the whole word Texas you spell it out and Latina.com, all my information is on there.
