How to Play an F# Half-Diminished Chord on the Saxophone

MARIANE NIELSEN: Now, here we have F sharp major, then we have dominant 7th. So we've gone ahead and we've lowered that top F natural to an E. Make it minor, we lower the 3rd from A sharp to A, and now we lower the C sharp to C, to fifth, one half-step to make it half-diminished. So that C natural just changes the character of everything. Once you get to know it real well, you can embellish it a little bit as I just did with C sharp, a reverse grace note.
