Window Washing Etiquette

This is Christopher with Expert Village.com. I want to talk a little about window washing etiquette. If you are going into somebody's house, you want to just remember that it is not your house. I always ask the customer if I want some hot water I ask where the best place to get hot water is. The second thing is I always take off my shoes off. I don't care if they tell me not to, especially if they are boots like these and I am going to be carrying mud from outside, just always take off your shoes. You might have to stand on furniture or on a bed and you don't want to be doing that with your shoes on. I always ask the customer if there are certain areas that they want me to do first so that I am not disturbing somebody if they are taking a nap or I am not disturbing a baby sleeping so I just ask the customer what they would like to see happen in the house and as I said never take your tools and lay them down on someone's furniture. Like this is my house so I have done that but keep your things in one place not scattered all over the place. Keep your things in one area on the porch. If you have ladders around the house do not leave your ladders for a kid to come play on. Just be mindful of the space that you are in. Another thing that I always like to do and this is important because people are always concerned about dripping water. I always want to be right over my bucket when I am getting water so I am not carrying water and dripping it throughout the house. Another thing is to put towels down. If you are washing a window underneath a carpet, always make sure you put a towel down so you are not dripping water on to somebody's carpet or on to their window frames. If it is wood window frames, you want to keep a towel down there to soak up your mess.
