How to Take Apart a Moped Carburetor

Hi, my name’s Beamer. We’re taking apart a carburetor for a moped. This is the top of the carb which is already removed. And here is the body of the carb which we are taking apart here. This particular carb is a Bing model carb. This is the float ball down at the bottom, and to remove that, you just need a socket wrench, or anything that you can wrap around that. And just give it a slight twist and unscrew this like so. And there you can see the float of the carb, which sits in the bowl. To remove the float there’s a small pin right here, and if you just push that out and grab it with some needle nose pliers, the float pulls out after that. This is the jet of the carburetor, which is a small brass colored fitting with a small hole in it and two slots for a screwdriver to pull it out. If you stick your screwdriver in the slot and give it a slight turn, it unscrews right out. And that’s how you disassemble a moped carburetor.
