Now the Alpine Butterfly Bend is another nice beautiful bend to put into a piece of rope because of its symmetry and its symmetry is really important to knot tiers. We are just dedicated because it makes them very pretty. They are going to come in against one another and what I am going to do is take this one and loop it around like so. They become a bit unruly. I am going to loop it around like so and I am going to take my other line and it is going to go under the loop on this side and back around and over. Once again a nice knot with symmetry to it. Basically what we are going to do is take it and pull the working line through both loops and we re going to do the same thing on the other one making sure everything is the same as we do this and you can see that they are just basically two overhead knots but the way in which they are weaved in gives them this nice look to them. There you go, a nice Alpine Butterfly.
